Introduction
- Performance testing helps to evaluate a system based on certain conditions such as heavy load, high traffic etc…
- Performance testing helps to identify the system bottleneck and helps to fix it before it reaches to production.
- Performance testing also helps to provide resource allocation.
Type of Performance Testing
- Load testing – Testing heavy loads such as large numbers of concurrent users or high data volume for the system to test to identify the benchmark
- stress testing – Pushing the system beyond normal operating capacity to test its limits and identify breaking points.
- scalability testing – Evaluating the system’s ability to scale up or down in response to changing user demand and workloads.
- Endurance testing – Measuring system performance over an extended period of time to identify potential memory leaks or performance degradation.
- spike testing – Testing the system’s behavior and performance when subjected to sudden and significant increases in user traffic or data volume.
- volume testing- Testing the system’s ability to process large volumes of data.
- concurrency testing – Testing how well the system performs when multiple users access it at the same time.
